Required Documents for Tourist Visa in Greece

If you live outside of Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Edirne, please ask our Schengen authorities about which office to complete your Greece visa application.

Required Documents for Greece Visa

All paperworks to be submitted must be the documents of the last 3 months (current).

• Passport

Your passport for Greece Schengen visa application must be issued in the last 10 years. Applications with navy blue passports aren't accepted. Your passport must be valid for another 3 months after the expiry date. Applicants who have changed surnames after marriage or divorce are required to present their passport with current identity information. If you have obtained visas from Schengen, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand and Australia after 2010, you should include photocopies in your application file.

• Greece Schengen Visa Application Form

Greece Schengen visa application forms can be filled in Turkish or Greek. You can get information about how to fill out the application forms.

• Biometric photo

You should include two biometric photos in 35x45 mm with a white background and reflecting your current situation. Please note that your photo shouldn't have been used on any visas before.

• Photocopy of identity card

You must include a copy of the front and back of your ID in your application file. If you have applied with your new / chip ID and your ID isn't with you during the visa process, you will need to obtain a temporary identity card from the population office closest to your residence.

• Sample of Fully Accurate Population Registration

You should obtain your complete sample of population registration from the Population Directorates. Your full accurated population registration sample should contain complete family and sibling information.

• Travel health insurance

It is compulsory to provide health insurance covering your travel time. The travel health insurance must be covered by 30,000 EUR.

• Flight / Hotel reservations

In Greece tourist visa applications, you should include your hotel and flight reservations that supportive to depart and return to Turkey. Air tickets and hotel reservations must be issued on behalf of each applicant.

If you are applying for a Greece visa, you must provide your bank account statement/ passbook in your name. Please note that your bank statements should include your retrospective account transactions for the last 3 months. The visa must be obtained at least 15 days before the date of application. Your bank account must contain at least 5,000 TL. If you are traveling to Greece as a family and travel expenses are covered by a family member, the person who will cover the family's expenses must have a balance of at least 5,000 TL for per person. Bank account statements should be submitted by the bank with stamped, wet signed, bank circular.

Bank account documents received in the form of ATM printouts are considered invalid.

Documents that changes according to your vocational status

For Employees;

• Employer letter: The employer letter should write on the letterhead of the company and include the position of the applicant in the company, the date of commencement, salary, the dates of leave, the period of time and the continuation of the work on applicant's return. Employer's letter must be submitted in the original copy, photocopy isn't accepted.

• Company's Activity Certificate

• SGK declaration statement (must be barcode. If it is in old type, ıt should be wet signed and stamped from the company) and SGK "service statement" (E-government barcode or wet signed stamped from SGK)

• Approved salary slips for the last 3 months with stamp and wet signature. If you have started a new job, you can provide information about your previous workplace and payrolls. Copy of the contract if the contract is being worked on.

• Your ownership documents (copy of deed, license etc.);

• Originals of personal bank account cards for the last 3 months (account transactions) If the statement is printed from mobile, it must be wet signed and stamped from the bank;

• A copy of the Trade Registry

• Photocopy of tax plate

• Photocopy of signature circular

• Activity Document for the last 3 months (wet signed and stamped, original or e-signed document issued from the website of the Chamber of Commerce).

For Company Owners;

• Petition, written on company letterhead

• Ownership documents (copy of deed)

• Originals of personal bank account statement for the last 3 months (account transactions) If the statement is printed from mobile, it must be wet signed and stamped from the bank

• A copy of the Trade Registry

• Photocopy of tax plate

• Photocopy of signature circular

• Activity Document for the last 3 months (wet signed and stamped original copy or e-signed document taken from the website of the Chamber of Commerce).

For Students;

• Student certificate: It should include in English and it must be original of the document.

For Under 18 years;

• Children under the age of 12 are exempt from the fingerprint procedure. Children over the age of 12 must be present at the application center with their parents or legal guardian for biometric application.

• A separate application form is required for each child.

• If the child is traveling alone or with only one of his / her parents, both parents must submit a notarized consent document (belonging to the last 6 months).

• If the child is traveling with both parents or legal guardian, both parents or guardian must be present at the application center. Otherwise, a certificate of consent must be submitted. For divorced couples childs also require a court order showing custody of the child.

Sponsor Documents;

If the Greece visa applicants don't work and their expenses is met by family members, the documents showing the financial condition and income of the sponsor to cover the travel expenses must be attached to the applicant's documents together with the sponsorship petition.
If the sponsor is a owner of the company;

• Sponsor letter: It should be written on the company letterhead and the degree of kinship to the sponsor should be indicated.

• 4B service statement

• Current company documents: Activity certificate, tax plate, signature circular, photocopy of trade registry

• Bank statement: There should be a minimum balance of 5000 TL and show the last 3 months of transactions.

If the sponsor is an employee;

• Company letter: The document should contain information about the person's position in the company.

• SGK employment entry statement and 4 A service statement

• Payroll

If the sponsor is a civil servant;

• Work certificate

• Copy of duty ID card

Greece Visa Application Areas

If you apply for a Greece visa from Istanbul, you must reside in one of the provinces within the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of Greece in Istanbul. The jurisdiction of the Consulate General of Greece includes Istanbul, Artvin, Bartin, Bayburt, Bolu, Canakkale, Duzce, Giresun, Gumushane, Istanbul, Karabuk, Kastamonu, Kocaeli, Ordu, Rize, Sakarya, Samsun, Sinop, Trabzon, Yalova, Zonguldak.

Please inform our authorities if you are going to apply from Ankara, Bursa or Izmir. There may be changes in the application documents for the applications made from these provinces.

How Many Days Does Greece Tourist Visa Results?

Greece Schengen visas result in an average of 5 to 15 business days. The Consulate of Greece doesn't serve on public holidays and applications before public holidays may result in a longer period. In exceptional cases, review of applications may take a long time too. For this reason, we recommend that you start your application process immediately, not sooner than 3 months.

Considerations for Greece Visa Applications

• If the documents submitted for applications from Istanbul are outside the jurisdiction of the Greek Consulate (business document, bank passbook, student certificate, etc.), you must submit a residence certificate together with a invoice (electricity, water, natural gas) registered to your name for the last 6 months.

• You can called for an interview by the General Consulate of Greece, you will need to provide additional documents or original documents.

• Applications with missing documents may result in your application being rejected.
